Pool leagues are an excellent way to have fun, meet new people and improve your skills. You can also meet new people and build a community. Many pool leagues also host professional events. If you play well, you can win a lot. But before you join a pool team, here are some key points to remember.

First, find a league that matches your level of skill. There are many leagues to choose, so it is easy to find the right one for you. The BCA Pool League is another good option. This umbrella membership organization provides logistical support for events, and allows you join pool leagues across different cities and countries. This league boasts over 500 leagues in all 50 countries and is the most popular amateur pool tournament.

The Valley National 8-Ball League Association (VNEA) is the largest amateur pool league in the world, and plays in over 400 cities and towns across the country. In addition to the United States, the VNEA plays in 36 other countries.


Most pool leagues use a handicap system, which allows players to compete against players of the same skill. Consider joining a pool team if you have a handicap. You may need to pay extra fees depending on which league you are in to play or participate in tournaments.

The American Poolplayers Association (APA) is a nonprofit pool league that was established in 1979. APA was originally called the National Pool League. It now has over 250,000 members. While not all APA's leagues offer eight-ball, many are.
