A pool league includes two teams and a set number of rules. The BCA (Billiards Congress of America), offers many different billiards rules. Some are more common than others. However, most of the rules are relatively the same. You need to be familiar with the rules and regulations of each league before you can play. There are many organizations across North America that offer competitive pool. There are actually many tournaments per year. The WPBA Tour, however, is the largest.
One of the perks of playing in a league is the ability to switch out players on your team. This is called a roster change and is allowed up to the tenth week of play. Talk to a league officer for more information. To do so, you'll need to fill out a new signup sheet with your name, email address and contact numbers. Once you have the roster finalized, it is time to pay the required dues. All payments must be made no later than one week in advance. Payments can be made by credit card, check, or cash.

Another thing that is fun about a pool league: there is a code for conduct that all the players must follow. Players must be courteous and professional at all times. If a player is disruptive during a match, the whole match will be forfeited. A rule requires that all players report any misconducts to the BCA before they are allowed to attempt a shot. The BCA doesn't allow players to argue with officials during playoffs, but a well-intentioned player could still have a negative effect.
Pool rules are generally the same. You will find the most enjoyable format. It is possible that you will find the competition more intense than you want depending on how many people are involved. You should also ensure that you choose a rulebook appropriate to your level of play. APA is one of the more forgiving leagues, but there are still some rules you need to be aware of.
As with all pool rules, the most important aspect is not to overdo it. It is important that you make a positive impression on your opponents. It is a good idea to give tips to new players when you introduce them to the sport. At the minimum, mention to the new player that they are the ones who call in the infractions. And that they need to do it in a way that will not cause them to miss their next shot.

The most enjoyable part about any pool league is the camaraderie, friendships and fellowship that can be made. You might consider joining one of the many APA tournaments. Typically, organizers will set up doubles and non-team tournaments, as well as other opportunities for competition.
