The US Open 9 Ball Championship ranks among the most sought-after titles in nine ball pool. The tournament attracts over 1000 spectators every year and is broadcast by ESPN sports channel. A total prize fund of $148,000 will be awarded to 64 players in the competition. In addition, a $500 entry fee will be charged for the event.

There are several notable names who have been crowned champions in the US Open 9 Ball Championship. Earl Strickland, Steve Mizerak, and Mike Sigel have all walked away with the title. Efren Reyes, "The Magician", is the best pocket billiards player. In his career, he has won one U.S. Open Championship and one World Championship.

Luther Lassiter, who passed away in October 1988, was a legend road player who won six World 9 Ball Championships. He was an outstanding player who had a long professional career. However, Lassiter would've won more if there was more nine-ball tournaments.

He was also a World Teams Championship champion, which was revived in Austria earlier in the year. In the past, Earl Strickland was a national champion as was Kurt DeKlerck. However, in the past 20 years the top names have been eclipsed by Allen Hopkins or Efren "The Magician”Reyes.

Reyes is a great player in both straight pool and one pocket billiards. He won the US Open and World 9-Ball Championship in 1999. He also holds two other major titles.


Buddy Hall is the most famous 9 ball name. Hall has won the US Open title back-toback. He has received praise from fans and his talent has been acknowledged. He was a dominant player in Shreveport's 9-ball league in the 1970s.

Tanvee, a nine-year old Indian girl from Hyderabad, began playing nine-ball seven years ago. Roy Pastor, a Billiards Education Foundation coach, has been helping him. He will compete in Monday's Predator World Junior 9 Ball Championship.

The World Pool Championship holds the record for the largest pool tournament. Guinness World Records runs it since 1981. This tournament attracts millions of people from all over the world and has evolved into an international contest. In addition, it has been broadcast on ESPN sports channel since 1999.
