He has already taken part in some three cushion billiards tournaments and has placed in the top 10 at the national 3-cushion billiards tournament in Illinois last month. He also visits a local billiards club every month in the Twin Cities.
Nguyen Quyet Nguyen and Tran Quyetchien are two of Vietnam's most highly-ranked billiards players. Both of these players are ranked in top ten worldwide. Both players are currently ranked in the top eight, with Tran Quyet Chien ranked number seven. Both players are the tournament’s defending champions. Ngo Dinh Nai is ranked number 29. Jeremy Bury from France ranks number 18.
The next tournament in Vietnam will be the 3-Cushion Carom Billiards Continental Cup, which will be held on December 20-22 in Seoul. The tournament will feature eight top Vietnamese players. The total prize amount will be around 160,000 USD. A number of events and other events will take place throughout the year in addition to this tournament.

The United States Billiard Association or USBA is the official governing authority for carom pool in the United States. The top two teams progress to the semi-finals while the third and forth teams move on to the quarterfinals. The final round of the tournament will be single elimination. The cash prize for the Las Vegas World Cup 3-cushion Billiards Tournament is $20,000. This is the very first time that the Vietnamese sent a representative into the semi-finals.

3-Cushion Billiards Tournament has been a popular game for many years, even though it is relatively new. It has also been featured in the animated Disney short film Donald in Mathmagic Land. In addition, it was featured in the 2007 Goya Award-winning Spanish film Seven Billiard Tables.
