Ralph Greenleaf, a billiards enthusiast, has quickly become one of America's top players despite only starting a few years ago. He has taken part in at least three tournaments of cushion billiards and was a top-10 player in the Illinois 3-cushion billiards tourney last month. He also visits a local billiards club every month in the Twin Cities.
Nguyen Qyet Nguyen (Tran Quyet Chien) and Tran Quet Chien (Nguyen Quintyet Nguyen) are the two most highly ranked Vietnamese billiards player. Both of these players are ranked in top ten worldwide. Both players are currently in the top eight with Tran Qyet Chien at number seven. Both players are the tournament's current champions. The next tournament to be held in Vietnam will be the 3-Cushion Carom Billiards Continental Cup on December 20-22 in Seoul. The tournament will see eight of the best Vietnamese players compete. The total prize amount will be around 160,000 USD. The tournament will not be the only event. There will also be other events throughout each year.
The official governing body of carom billiards is the United States Billiard Association (USBA). Each year, the National Championship culminates in a series events organized by The USBA. The USA will be represented at the Pan-American Championship by the top two National Championship players.
The three cushion billiards competitions held at Madison 3-Cushion were intensely competitive and hotly contested. In the tournament, there were two flights of six players. The tournament was handicapped so only the top five players from each flight reached the semi-finals. The top 12 players will receive $7,400. Bruce Venzke (the cue game legend) was the tournament director.

This tournament was held south of Binh Duong. Eight teams battled each other over three nights. The top two teams advance to the semi-finals, while the third and fourth teams will advance to the quarterfinals. The final round will be single elimination. The cash prize for the Las Vegas World Cup 3-cushion Billiards Tournament is $20,000. The semi-finals will be the first time that a Vietnamese representative has been sent to Las Vegas World Cup 3-cushion billiards tournament.
The 3-Cushion Billiards Tournament is a relatively new game, but has already grown in popularity in many parts of the world. It was also featured as a short animation in Disney's Mathmagic Country. It was also featured in Seven Billiard Tables, a 2007 Goya Award-winning Spanish movie.
