Billiards, pool and snooker all involve balls. Although there is some overlap between the three games, there are still key differences. These differences can be confusing for newbies. This article attempts to clear up some of the more common misconceptions.

There are many options for each variant, along with rules and scoring systems. Each game can be considered a table sport but each has its unique set of rules. Most tables are 8 feet in length by 4 foot wide. Pocket billiards are another option.

Pool is one of most popular table games. It's usually played with three balls with different colors. A player scores a point when he or she sinks a ball. A red ball is worth 1 point, and an object is worth 6 points. Generally, a game of pool involves shooting the ball from the bank into the opposite end of the table. The rules may vary from region-to-region.

Snooker on the other side is a more complex game. During the game, a player attempts to pocket an object ball, while the other player tries to foul the cue ball. At the same, the goal is for as many points to be scored as possible. The "green call", an extra call that is worth three point, will be awarded points to players during the game.

Both snooker and pool have their own unique set of rules. Snooker, in particular, has a rule about how big the ball should be. A snooker sphere is approximately 2 1/8 inch in diameter, and this is different from pool. A snooker balls are also smaller than standard billiards balls. Snooker balls will therefore travel faster.

The curved pocket lead is one of the best aspects of snooker. It is made from a woven wool that enables it to move faster. Most snooker tables use a net underneath the pocket to collect the balls. One interesting aspect of snooker's skill is that it requires a higher level of skill than most other billiards games.

Snooker is generally more recent than billiards and pool. It started out as a gentleman’s game, which was based on an earlier version pool. It was originally played on a small table with pockets. Later it was rebranded to pool. However, snooker has a better social reputation than pocket billiards.

Overall, snooker and pool are far more popular than billiards. Each game requires a cue stick with balls, cues, and equipment. To earn a winning score, each player must play several frames. A snooker player might rack up 120 points. But, this is just a fraction of the actual score. These comparisons may be offensive to many pool and snooker player, especially if the players are more experienced.
